Posting prices is extremely rare for a tax preparation firm. We do it anyway: comparable to the national chains, not the cheapest or the most expensive. Tick what was on last year’s return to see an estimate.

How much does Wildhorse Tax Service charge?
A basic 1040 is $150 and state returns are $100 each on the 2026 price list, with common schedules and forms priced individually. Our prices are comparable to the national chains: not the cheapest or the most expensive. We post many of our prices, which is extremely rare for a tax preparation firm. E-file is free.
What do you need from me to prepare my taxes?
Complete the Checklist of Items Needed. Then either drop off your information at our office or schedule an appointment and bring it with you.
Will my taxes be finished during my appointment?
Normally, yes. Taxes are normally completed during your in-person office appointment. If you drop off your information without an appointment, we can generally complete your taxes within two weeks.
Can you prepare my taxes if I move or live out of state?
Absolutely. We have clients throughout the country and all states are supported. Contact us and we will walk you through the entire process.
How can I send my documents if I don’t have a scanner?
Send them by fax, encrypted email or U.S. mail, or use your phone as a scanner. There is a short how-to video for phone scanning.
How do I access the client portal or send encrypted email?
Send us an email requesting access to the portal or to start encrypted email. New users cannot access the portal until they receive an invitation from us.
How do I file an extension?
Email us that you would like to file an extension, or file IRS Form 4868 yourself. It’s easy.
